Connecticut, and his deacons, talk upon election,
reprobation, and free will, at his departure left the
following lines on the table.
  If all things succeed, as already decreed, 
  And immutable impulses rule us, 
  To preach and to pray is but time thrown away, 
  And our teachers to nothing but fool us;
